Accessing/Downloading Data

Hi [Client Name],

Our data is hosted on the AusSeabed Marine Data Portal and can be downloaded through the “clip, zip and ship” function in the top right hand corner (screen shot below). We have recently published an AusSeabed Marine Data Portal User Guide and Demonstration Video, which I hope can be of assistance.

As we are continuing to add data, you may also find something useful from the following links:

Error with Portal Data

Hi [Client Name],

I’m sorry to hear that, I have asked the developers to look into any errors associated with that data and we will seek to remedy it as soon as possible. In the meantime, you may have more luck downloading data directly from the Geoscience Australia online catalog: [Insert specific eCat URL].

Query regarding data availability [Broad]

Hi [Client Name],

Thank you for your email.

There is an AusSeabed Data Publication Schedule publicly accessible on our website. The Publication Schedule is updated weekly and, once published on the AusSeabed Marine Data Portal, removed from the table after a fortnight. Currently, the schedule is a collaboration between Geoscience Australia and CSIRO, but it is intended to expand in future with more AusSeabed data collaborators.

If there is a specific dataset you are after, please let me know.

Citing AusSeabed data

Hi [Client Name],

Within the AusSeabed Marine Data Portal data layer, there should be a PID (persistent ID) reference in the “About” section. This reference is linked to the Geoscience Australia online catalog (eCat) which contains citation details. I have pasted an example of eCat below.

Please notify me if the PID is missing and we will seek to amend that as soon as possible, and provide the correct link in the meantime. If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Once registered, it is a very simple process to upload your polygon, which is automatically published on the Portal. We look forward to seeing it!

Survey Coordination Tool User Profile Verification

Survey Coordination Tool - Non-organisational domain verification (e.g. Gmail)

Hi [Client Name],

I am responsible for finalising the user profiles within the AusSeabed Survey Coordination tool, and I can see that a user has self-registered using this email address.

As you are using a Gmail account, we need to further verify you login details prior to aligning your access to your requested organisations profile. Could you please provide any one of the following:

  1. An email address that utilises the your requested organisations domain (end with [insert correct domain]) that you have access to for confirmation email follow-up.

  2. Details of the project or program you are working with, along with an organisational lead to confirm your access to the organisations submissions.

The userID will remain unverified within the system for 2 months from this request, but will be removed after that time if we are unable to verify your userID.

Kind regards,
