Names should utilise consistent terminology
Names should be focussed on context but also to ensure uniqueness
Avoid using redundant details that can be easily obtained elsewhere, like metadata.
Balance redundancy with stand-alone self-describing
Provide distinction between similar datasets
Understand limitations of file systems and software
Concise not comprehensive names to reduce folder and file name lengths
