Organisations and Custodians

The Survey Coordination tool maintains 2 distinct lists of agencies or business names. These are:

  1. Custodians - The custodian organisation assigned to a record is the organisation that is able to maintain the record within the system.
    - Survey plans records and requests may have more than one custodian assigned to the record, enabling organisations to share the work required to complete these records.
    - Priority areas do not currently include a custodian organisation. Custodian will be added to priority areas in a future release.

  2. Organisations - The organisation list (viewable in the administration interface) services a variety of organisation lists in the survey coordination tool. The organisation list is downloaded from data.gov.au and will be updated periodically as organisation names changes.
    - Survey Plans may have multiple “commissioning organisations” added to the record. The commissioning organisations represent those parties who are participating in the survey in some manner, whether that be as a lead scientist, or during planning.
    - Requests may only have one requesting organisation, but may have multiple collaborating organisations.
    - Priority Areas can only have one submitting organisation. Collaborating organisation will be added to priority areas at a later release, and will allow for multiple collaborating organisations to be added to the area record.

To view the list of custodians or organisations simply click on the administration cog and select one or the other from the left hand navigation:
