Logical Consistency

Definition

Data structures that adhere to rules, attributes and relationships as required from data specifications. Logical consistency can be achieved through standardised and replicable data organization across the global marine community. Logical consistency ensures data and data products are interoperable and transparent.

Checks

  1. Appropriate file names

  2. Readable folder structure

  3. Valid file formats

Pass Requirements

  1. Appropriate file names: Ensure a standardised file naming convention is followed so each file name is unique, matches the data and can be recognized in a folder without opening.

  2. Readable folder structure: Ensure multibeam data is organised in a HDCS (Hydrographic Data Cleaning Systems) format for multibeam processing software to read and write.

  3. Valid file formats: Ensure all file formats used are in accordance with the Australian multibeam guidelines and AusSeabed product specifications so the data can be used broadly.

  4. No 0KB files submitted.

*Note: 0KB files will be preserved and noted within the Quality Assurance reporting. No provided files will be deleted unless data is fully resupplied.
