Configuring Cloudberry Explorer for Amazon s3

Cloudberry Explorer is commercial software with a free and paid for Pro version It enables you to interact with AWS services using a graphical user interface.

Prior to using the Cloudberry Explorer you will need to:

  1. Complete the Contributing Data Partner Request form

  2. Register for an account using the Data Submission Tool (https://www.datasubmission.ausseabed.gov.au/ )

  3. Install CloudBerry Explorer for Amazon S3 - (https://cloudberry-explorer-for-amazon-s3.en.softonic.com/)

If you are registered you will receive an AWS Access key and Secret Access key from the AusSeabed@ga.gov.au email account.

Start Cloudberry Explorer for Amazon s3

From the File menu select New Amazon S3 Account

The following dialog box will appear

Enter a Display name (free text, something easy to understand)

e.g My temp ASB Data Submission bucket

Enter your Access and Secret keys (supplied via an email)

Select the Advanced button to Reset Primary region to: Asia Pacific (Sydney)

Select OK

In the above Account dialog, Press the Test Connection button. If your credentials are valid you will receive the following Success dialog box

You are now ready to Press

OK in the Account Details dialog and save these connection details

The following dialog box will be displayed to confirm your saved settings

Close this dialog box and return to  the Main interface (Left and Right frames)

Select a Source on your Left and

Your new Destination (ASB bucket) on your right

Upon selecting the new ASB bucket you should be able to see a bucket name in the following format:

‘dataprovider-99999’.

Any other visible buckets should not be accessible. Select your bucket name as provided in the Credentials email.

When you are ready to copy (we recommend you do not use Move), please navigate to the upload_data folder which will initially be empty.

Select your source folder in the Left hand frame and the Copy menu item will be enabled

Upon selecting the Copy Menu the following Confirmation dialog box will appear

Select Yes and uploading will commence
