Outlined below are the steps required to set up a new Organisation within the The Survey Coordination Tool. Within the tool there are two lists of organisations maintainedtool maintains 2 distinct lists of agencies or business names. These are:
Custodians - this list reflects the organisations belonging to the registered users of the system and it is assigning these organisations to a user, that allows a user to create, edit or remove records belonging to the organisation. Organisations - this list (at the time of writing) is a list of all government departments as provided The custodian organisation assigned to a record is the organisation that is able to maintain the record within the system.
- Survey plans records and requests may have more than one custodian assigned to the record, enabling organisations to share the work required to complete these records.
- Priority areas do not currently include a custodian organisation. Custodian will be added to priority areas in a future release.Organisations - The organisation list (viewable in the administration interface) services a variety of organisation lists in the survey coordination tool. The organisation list is downloaded from data.gov.au. This list may be added to and is expected to be refined over time. This list feeds all the organisation pick lists in the system other than custodian. and will be updated periodically as organisation names changes.
- Survey Plans may have multiple “commissioning organisations” added to the record. The commissioning organisations represent those parties who are participating in the survey in some manner, whether that be as a lead scientist, or during planning.
- Requests may only have one requesting organisation, but may have multiple collaborating organisations.
- Priority Areas can only have one submitting organisation. Collaborating organisation will be added to priority areas at a later release, and will allow for multiple collaborating organisations to be added to the area record.
