The following list of software is commonly used in the acquisition and processing of multibeam data, with QAX considered useful for generating or supplementing metadata during quality assurance. The list may assist Data Acquirers, Contributing Hubs or Processors in identifying useful software used by the Marine community for bathymetry related data.
Caris HIPS and SIPS™ suite of products offers essential capabilities and professional grade tools for hydrographic data processing. It enables you to simultaneously process multibeam, backscatter, side scan sonar, single beam and lidar data.
QPS Qimera is an evolution in hydrographic data processing, making it as intuitive and as simple as possible, while still offering the most advanced and cutting edge tools to ensure high quality products and rapid delivery. It offers full sonar processing and point cloud cleaning for a wide variety of industry standard formats, and supports surface vessels, ROV, AUV, and ASV survey platforms.
FMGT, or Fledermaus Geocoder Tool, is part of the Fledermaus suite and specialises in processing multibeam backscatter data using the Geocoder algorithm. It facilitates the creation of high-resolution backscatter mosaics, offering tools for beam pattern correction, normalization, and data artifact inspection. FMGT's advanced visualization capabilities are essential for accurate backscatter analysis.
