Platform name - The Platform name is controlled by a Lookup table, if the value you require is not available, navigate to the left hand menus and select Add Lookup Values. Your value will appear when you next use the drop down list and will only be available for the user who created the value and any other registered uses belonging to the same Organisation. Regular reviews of the Lookup tables will be made by the AusSeabed Operations team and if accepted will be published and available to all Data Register users. The same process is applied to any Lookup tables added to by users.

Platform Class - Autopopulated

Instrument Type - Instrument Type is controlled by a Lookup table and is currently limited to :

  • bathymetric LIDARs

  • multibeam echosounders

  • singlebeam echosounders

  • PING sub buttom profilers

However this list can be increased to include GPS systems or any other recorder.

Sensor - Sensors are controlled by a Lookpu table and are linked as child records to the Instrument Type. For example if multibeam echosounder is selected in the Instrument, the Sensor list is refreshed to contain only specific multibeam sensors.

‘Add to acquisition’ button - Please ensure that you use one of the available Add to acquisition buttons to save your specific Platforms to this acquisition record.

The Platform Summary table at the botton of the screen is merely another view of your details. It can be used to verify that you have added the correct details to this record.

Reminder that the small red triangle (blue star) in the top left corner of the field indicates the item is Mandatory to complete a submission (validation of these mandatory rules only occurs when the user is ready to Submit the metadata).

Platforms Populated with Summary Card display

Platform Configurations can be saved for re-use by the record creator and anyone else registered within the same organisation by using the green Save platform configuration button. Saved Platforms will appear in the top right corner of the frame. In subsequent acqusitions a user cn simply select the Saved platform and use the blue Add to acquisition button.
