Creating and editing a survey plan
Outlined below is the basic process for creating a new survey plan, and publishing the plan on the AusSeabed Data Portal on the Upcoming Surveys layer:

1 | To create a survey plan, you need to click on the “Add Plan/Add Basic Survey Plan” button. The add submission button can be found in 2 locations: | |

2 | Once you have started a new record, you are required to complete the minimum data requirements prior to publishing the record. *The survey plan may be saved as a draft at any time as long as it is assigned a survey name. | |
3 | Once you save the record, it will be assigned a status of Draft. The status of the record at any point in time is shown in the top left of the survey plan form. | |
4 | Once you have completed all the minimum data requirements for publishing, click on the “Finalise” button to publish the record. | |
5 | Important to note Only those records that are finalised AND have ticked the “public” check box will appear on the AusSeabed Upcoming Surveys Information layer. |
In order to edit an existing survey plan, the user must:

1 | Locate the survey plan that you wish to edit and click on the record from inside the list to open it. | |
2 | Update its status to an editable status. You can do this by clicking on the “review” button. The editable status’ are:

3 | Once in an editable state, make the edits you require. Amendments to the record may be saved as may times as required using the save icon on the right hand side of the survey plan screen. | |
4 | Once in an editable state, you may also delete the survey plan record if required. A survey plan can be deleted by using the trash can icon on the right hand side of the survey plan screen. |
