The AusSeabed Data Hub provides a data submission service for users to register and submit their data for publication under creative commons 4.0 licence conditions. This section provides an overview of the service and the instructions to register for the service.

Overview

To utilise the AusSeabed Data Submission service, a user must go through 4 basic steps:

  1. Request to become a contributing data partner by completing the following form and emailing it to ausseabed@ga.gov.au. This ensures that AusSeabed is aware of your intention to provide data for publication and allows you to provide some information relating to the scale of your data submission. A member of the AusSeabed Client services team will reach out to you via email to confirm that the request has been received. Contributing Data Partner Request form

  2. Register for the AusSeabed Data Submission Service (https://www.datasubmission.ausseabed.gov.au/) using the instructions provided:

  3. Await confirmation that you are fully registered

  4. Utilise the instructions to upload the data you wish to submit.

The full process can be summarised by the following diagram.

A step by step user guide for registering in the Data Submission Service can be found here.

Important to note/s:

  • Unless requested, the submission location will remain current for 30days. Where the contributing data partner is requesting an enduring space for data upload, a bespoke solution will be discussed and provided.

  • Credentials provided can not be shared. That is multiple people from a single organisation will not be provided with access to a single storage location. Each user will be allocated their own storage location and data will then be migrated centrally by the ausseabed team for processing and publication.
