Metadata

(see Metadata Attributes in Section 4.2.4) supplied as per Excel template or alternatively in file formats suitable for reading and loading.

ASCII

  • CSV (Comma separated values)

  • Text (Tab delimited values)

MS Excel

  • Excel 2003 (.xls)

  • Excel 2007 – Excel 365 (.xlsx)

Shape/Geometry

Format:

  1. Shapefile, or one of the following if this is not possible: 

  2. Geography Markup Language (GML) or

  3. GeoJson.

AusSeabed will maintain geometries in a spatial format capable of transformation into any of these formats.

Coordinate Reference System: EPSG:4326 (based on WGS84)

Geometry Type: Line & Polygon (Extent of the Survey from Port to Port)

Purpose/s:

  • To provide a visual extent of the survey area in a mapping portal and

  • To allow the calculation a total area (sq. km) of the Survey.
