Contributing Data Partner Profile

Data Distribution and Data Access

Please provide an outline of your understanding of how the data will be accessed  

Do you have an identified user for the data? If so, can you provide more information relating to its use? 

We would like to understand who will be using the data, what kind of processes it will be supporting (research/government/industry) and we would like to know if there are specific timelines that you are trying to achieve with its publication. 

Please confirm that the data will be able to be released under a creative commons licence v 4.0


In preparing the data for display and delivery through the GA data portal, there may be minor variations in the way it is displayed. Please acknowledge that you are aware, and consent to these variations.

  • I acknowledge that GA will display my data in a manner that conforms to their portal standard and that this may result in minor changes to the display.

* Please note, all data sets will be provided through a pre-production interface for viewing prior to release.

Data Storage

Please advise whether the submitting organisation, or another organisation will be preserving a copy of the data for the purposes of disaster recovery?

Data Business Risk Management

GA, as the persistent data custodian, will take responsibility for the quality and continuity of the products that are derived from the data provided by the contributing organisation to the GA Local Hub. 

Please confirm that, as the persistent data owner, that your organisation will take responsibility for the quality of the original data provided to the GA Local Hub?

Data Management Requirements and Responsibilities

GA will be assuming the role of custodian both in operational terms and for all citations. Please confirm that you agree to Geoscience Australia being cited as the data custodian for all data submitted?
