Survey metadata must accompany all subsidiary datasets and data levels.

Metadata can be provided to a Contributing Hub, in a number of digital formats (.txt, .csv, .xls), for the immediate future until the AusSeabed Metadata and Data submission tool has been developed and released for public access.

Within \Docs:

  • Additional Metadata describing the Metadata record

Within \Reports:

  • Pre-Acquisition Reports

  • Post Survey Reports

Within \Data

  • Line Geometry (Ship Track including Transit details)

  • Polygon Geometry (Entire Survey not just for the data supplied)

Please supply all reports in Adobe PDF format. A Report of Survey template can be found at AusSeabed Record Templates.

The reports will include a list of the equipment and software used and version; how the echo sounder transducer was set up and levelled, what vertical reference was used and how depths were reduced to adopted datum. A Levelling diagram is a useful method of confirming that datum adjustments have been carried out correctly.

Shapefiles representing the line & polygon extent of the complete Survey area including Transit details, (or one of the following formats where this is not possible 2. GML 3. GeoJson)

  • Processed L2 data (see L2 Level Metadata Attributes)

  • Quality Assurance Report (QAX) performed over the L2 GSF files

  • Shapefiles

  • Conditional - If using CARIS for processing please supply the CARIS ‘line report’

Within \L2_ProcessedData:

  • Processed L2 GSF files

  • Processed LAS Files (optional)

  • Processed Sub Bottom Profiling outputs

  • Final Tide model/strategy data as used in the processing project i.e Caris ZDF and related TID files

The \L2 folder contains processed gsf per MBES Sensor and Navigation sensor data. It is expected that the processed soundings are reduced to EGM2008 produced by Ellipsoidal Reference System (ERS) approach or to approximate EGM2008 produced by tide correction approach. These L2 must also have data status containing flags indicating rejected or accepted data.
