kiglikpijpojBeyond Compare 4 Pro Edition is commercial software which enables you to interact with AWS services using a graphical user interface.
Prior to using the Beyond Compare you will need to:
Complete the Contributing Data Partner Request form
Register for an account using the Data Submission Tool (https://www.datasubmission.ausseabed.gov.au/ )
Install Scooter Software: Home of Beyond Compare - (https://www.scootersoftware.com/index.php)
If you are registered you will receive an AWS Access key and Secret Access key from the AusSeabed@ga.gov.au email account.

3 | From this dialog box Select the Add (+) button on the bottom left of the dialog |  |

6 | Enter your Access key, Secret key and Bucket name (as supplied in the Credentials email) The bucket name is optional but will assist in streamlining your navigation later on. | |
7 | Select Save As… and give the profile a useful name like ‘ My temp ASB Data Submission bucket’ | |
8 | Close this configuration and return to Main interface. | |
9 | After returning to the Main interface (above) Select the Session menu and New Session – Folder Sync |  |

11 | On the left hand frame - Select your Source location using the ellipsis (…) beside the drop down list icon. | |
12 | On the right hand frame - Select the new Profile that was created – My temp ASB Data Submission bucket and Highlight the 'upload_data’ folder before Selecting OK. |  |
13 | When the Main interface screen is re-displayed, ensure that the Sync operation is Copying from Left and Updating to the Right. |  |

15 | Note: there are some other configurations that can be adjusted, however the default setting for these are usually OK. Investigate all the tabs to familiarise yourself with the product. |  |
16 | You can also use Beyond Compare’s Folder Compare session after a Folder Sync session to validate a successful and complete copy. The comparisons can be on file names, dates, attributes and binary comparisons.
The Log messages feature in Tools menu – Options – Tweaks is another useful feature which can be modified to include Successful and Unsuccessful copying logs. | |
